Ingredients Your Skin Loves
Making our soaps is as much about chemistry as it is about craftsmanship. We carefully select the best ingredients and scents to create a luxurious bar of soap that transforms your bath into an adventure.
We believe everyone should have high quality and unique bath products. Our soaps can not be produced commercially. They are beautiful and gentle. Our products transform your baths and showers into something extraordinary.
Shea Butter
Shea butter has a high concentration of fatty acids and vitamins. It has been shown to have anti inflammatory properties. It is high in oleic, linoleic and stearic acids, which help to combat oxidative stresses.
It is rich in vitamins A, E, and F, and some studies have shown it to help with healing. We use it in our soaps, lotions and lip balms. Because of the high cost of this butter, it is very rare to find it in commercially produced soaps, and certainly not at these prices.
Meadowfoam Oil
Meadowfoam oil is extracted from the Pacific Northwest annual plant, Limananthes and is an earth friendly product It is highly moisturizing, is absorbed easily and has a non greasy feeling. We use this in our lip balms and lip scrubs, and occaisionally in specialty products
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is used primarily in our soaps, but can also be found in some of our specialty products. It helps to provide the "cleaning" component to our soaps due to it's fatty acid make , and it also helps to contribute to the hardness of our bar. It is absorbed easily into the skin and has antimicrobial properties.
Avocado Oil
Avocado oil is an excellent source of anti-oxidants, essential fatty acids, minerals and vitamins. It is an absorbent oil and helps with decreasing dryness. Avocado oils is high in beta carotene, lecithin, fatty acids, and vitamins A, D, and E. We use this in most of our soaps and lotions
Sweet Almond Oil
Sweet Almond oil is high in oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids. It is a light oil with excellent moisturizing properties and is quickly absorbed into the skin with no greasy feeling. We use this in our lotions, bath fizzies, and bath bombs.
Lard
We use lard in our soaps for many reasons. It makes for a rich lather and produces a hard bar of soap. The harder the bar of soap, the longer it will last for our cust. Another, perhaps surprising benefit is that lard has a very similar make up as our own skin. It is extremely gentle on our skin and helps keep the soap white..
Goat milk contains alpha-hydroxyl acids, is high in vitamin A and rich in minerals like calcium, sodium and iron. These compounds, in addition to the added fat, all contribute to creating an amazing bar of soap and bottle of lotion. Once you try it, you'll wonder where it has been all your life.
Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids, which help to hydrate and nourish your skin. It is rich in phytochemicals that help protect from UV rays. It is a hard butter with a high melting point and requires some care when making products due to the complexity of the fatty acids. We use this in our emulsified sugar scrubs, some of our bath bombs, and our lip balms.
Olive Oil
Olive oil is an excellent source of anti-oxidants. It has a high concentration of a product called Squalene, which gives it an added antioxidant boost. It is rich in vitamins A, D ,E, and K. We use this primarily in our soaps.
Castor Oil
Castor oil is used in our soaps to help increase the lather. Our soaps are super-fatted, which means there is more oil in the recipe, than is saponified to become soap. This means that the soap will be less drying , but it also creates less lather. It is a challenge to soap makers to create a hard bar of soap that will last, and lather, while still being gentle. The fatty acids in castor oil help us with the lather portion of this problem, while the lard helps us with the hardness problem.
